Earlier in the year we did a design for the first Artist Series of the CANMANS. The Canmans are a series of vinyl figures designed by WITNES AWR for TOYNAMI focused on graffiti artists and the art of collecting spray paint cans. There are 5 artists in the first series ….Ourselves, Greg CRAOLA Simkins, POSE, REVOK and ALEX PARDEE . As well as being super bad ass…each figure also has a removable lid for storing spray paint tips and other items discreetly.
We wanted to make our design specific to our homeland ‘AUSTRALIA’…so we transformed our can into an old DULUX spray can which is an Australian brand of paint. This particular labeled Dulux has been off the market for a long time now…So we thought maybe this one had been sitting in the trash somewhere for 20 or so years…filled with rust and assorted slugs , slowly mutated grew a mouth and came to life!!
